Amy Stocky is an author and artist. She is a naturalist and activist. She has been a journalist, podcaster, and change-maker.
Amy Stocky spoke at Harvard, appeared at Kolaj Fest in New Orleans, and recently completed the inaugural Spring 2025 Land Art Residency at The Verdancy Project in Oregon.
She has appeared in or written for Bust Magazine, VICE.com, and the New York Post to name just a few. She has interviewed Geezer Butler of Black Sabbath, Anthropologist William H. McNeil, and Anton LaVey. In 2004, she started a large celebration of author Jean Shepherd in his hometown of Hammond, Indiana.
She lives in Portland Oregon with a Turtle and a Dog. She was married for some 24 years, but now enjoys her solitude and freedom. In 2025, she became a certified Neighborhood Tree Steward through Portland’s Department of Urban Forestry.
Amy Stocky is a complex human being who speaks with trees, listens to heavy metal, and wants to leave this world better than she found it.
